District Manager

Job Summary

Our Company is looking for an experienced District Supervisor. Under the guidance of the Vice President of Operations, the position leads a group of stores in a fairly large geographical area. The number of stores can be between 6-12 stores. This position has full P&L responsibility for the stores under their direct supervision. Store Managers report to directly to the District Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage sales and operations of multiple units within an assigned District
  • Responsible for placement of effective Store Managers and Assistant Managers in all stores
  • Recruit, hire, train and mentor the management staff for the assigned area. Positions include Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Deli Managers
  • Work with both vendors and Store Managers to ensure all sites within the area are clean, adequately stocked, organized and well-kept, in order to provide a positive customer experience
  • Follow up to ensure that the Marketing Planner is fully executed at all locations
  • Work with the Store Team to ensure that food safety is a priority, and food sales are maximized through proper food preparation and presentation to meet customer demands
  • Assist with Cost Categories to ensure profitability is maximized
  • Collaborate with Store Managers regarding store conditions and expectations, while holding management and team members accountable.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers to have appealing fuel presentation per the brand standards
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through daily interactions with customers, team members, and vendors.
  • Oversee adherence to all procedures and standards, ensuring the successful daily operations and sanitation requirements at each location.
  • Administer company policies per the employee handbook
  • Control expenses and oversee store payroll budgets, ensuring the hours are used effectively to meet customer demand
  • Influence the profit and loss statement in a positive fashion.
  • Manage employee relations issues, along with the guidance from the VP-Operations.
  • Serve as a key player in loss prevention, internal theft and inventory shrink.
  • Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Assume responsibility for special assignments and projects as needed.
  • Communicate effectively to VP-Operations to ensure that key events are handled in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that all employee and customer accidents and incidents are communicated through the established process.
  • Be available to store personnel as needed to provide guidance and answer questions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Requires at least 3 years in a multi-unit position
  • This position requires the ability to read, understand and take action to impact the P&L’s in a positive fashion.
  • Requires great communication skills
  • Requires the ability to the recruit, interview and hire quality individuals
  • Coaches the Store Managers to a higher level of performance
  • Has the ability to fully implement the marketing programs
  • Understands the merchandising needs of each store to drive sales, working in conjunction with the marketing department
  • Must have a clean driving record
